Integrations
¶This chapter considered a integration of external modules with Guriddo jqGrid. In this case it is needed to load additional modules in order these features to work with Guriddo jqGrid.
jQuery UI integrations¶
jQuery UI is a curated set of user interface interactions, effects, widgets, and themes built on top of the jQuery JavaScript Library. Whether you're building highly interactive web applications or you just need to add a date picker to a form control, jQuery UI is the perfect choice.
More information on jQuery UI can be found here
As already described Guriddo jqGrid can use the jQurery CSS framework. Note that the jQuery CSS definitions can be used separately from the javascript code. In this chapter we will explain how we can implement some jQuery UI JavaScript features in Guriddo jqGrid.
Installation¶
To use the features that are made in jqGrid it is necessary to include the jQuery UI library in the head section of the document or any other working way. For more information how to download the jQuery UI library visit their web site
After downloading the jQuery UI your configuration can look like this:

Where jquery-ui.min.js is the jQuery UI library. In order to overcome some confusions we recommend to download the full version of the UI library.
The code which integrate jQuery UI library is in module grid.jqueryui.js
Modules¶
Sortable Columns¶
This feature is integrated in jqGrid, and hence it is not necessary to do something special. The feature uses jQuery UI sortable widget. The method allow to reorder the grid columns using the mouse. The only necessary setting in this case is to set the sortable option in jqGrid to true. Using our example from Quick Start the code is:

This option works when Bootstrap CSS is used. In this case the jQuery UI sortable widget should be loaded.
The sortable option can be a object in which we can add (or overwrite) parameters that are available in the jQuery UI sortable widged. To do this a options property should be set. By example to change the jQuery UI sortable parameter forcePlaceholderSize do:

This option can be a function. In case it is a function the update sortable event is replaced with it.
To get the reordered columns use the grid parameter remapColumns:

Initially the first position correspond to the first column and etc. - by example [0,1,2,3] in case we have 4 columns defined in colModel. After reordering of columns the array can look like this: [1,0,3,2]. This mean the the first column(0) is moved to the second position(1) and the third column(2) is moved to four position(3).
Any parameter can be added including options, methods and events
Column Chooser¶
With this method we can reorder columns and set visible and hidden columns in the grid. This method uses sortable and dialog widgets. Additionally to these widgets the multiselect widget is used. This widget is available in the jqGrid distribution and needs to be loaded again with its CSS.
Note
The Column Chooser is available only with jQuery UI Themes and is not available with Bootstrap 3 and Bootstrap 4
The javascript file is named ui.multiselect.js and is provided in js subdirectory and css file is named ui.multiselect.css and is available in css directory. The code for loading is:

Calling conventions:
To use the method do

where options is a object with properties listed below.
After calling this method a modal dialog appear where the user can reorder columns and set which of them can be visible and which of them can be hidden.
This method uses the following options from the language file - by example the English file is:

where caption is the title of the dialog, bSubmit - button text to confirm the changes, bCancel is the text for the cancel(close) dialog action.

In order to do other things after reordering you can redefine this option (function). For example let say that we want to recalculate the width of some elements on the page after the user show or hide some columns. The code can look like this:

Sortable Rows¶
This method allows reordering (sorting) grid rows in a visual manner using a mouse.
Calling convetions:
jQuery("#list").jqGrid('sortableRows', options);
where options is a object with properties get from sortable widget.
The method uses only the jQuery UI sortable widget. This means that we can set any option and event available in this widget.
Warning
Currently the method does not work when the TreeGrid is enabled (treeGrid:true)- i.e. you can not use the method to move reorder tree rows.
Resizable Grid¶
This method allow to re size the grid width and/or height in visual manner using a mouse.
Calling conventions:
jQuery("#gridid").jqGrid('gridResize', options);
where options is a object with properties as described from jQuery UI resizable widget.
The method uses only jQuery UI resizable widget. This means that we can set any option and event available in this widget.
After the method is called a marker appear in the bottom right corner of the grid indicating that it can be re-sized.
Drag & Drop rows¶
This method allow drag and drop rows between two or more grids using a mouse.
Calling conventions:

Example
In the example below we will create three grids with id grid1, grid2 and grid3. We will make so that rows from grid1 can be dragged to grid2 and grid3 and rows from grid2 can be dragged only to grid1.
